WhatsApp fraud revealed.
According to Qadin.Net, this was reported by Prime.
According to Ilya Loyevsky, deputy head of the Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo), the scammers encourage the user to follow the link or download the file. To do this, they use high-profile company names. The expert said that fraudsters use the design of the official profile of WhatsApp and apply on behalf of the company to be more convincing.
"If you are asked to provide any personal information in a message, this is a trap. You should also be careful if you are asked to send this message to several contacts to update messages, confirm your activity, update emojis or continue to use them for free, ā€¯Loyevsky warned.
He said that in order to partially protect against fraudsters, it is necessary to stop "automatic uploading of media documents" in messaging settings.
"Besides, you should not accept files from unfamiliar accounts," the expert concluded.
