Chairman of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Bahar Muradova commented on reports that the son-in-law of President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Ramiz Mehdiyev, former MP Ilham Aliyev's son attended the wedding.
According to Gadin.Net, Muradova wrote on her Facebook account:
"As a rule, I considered it important to take public opinion into account. I have always respected the right of people to express their views on any issue. I have not been in favor of reacting immediately, even when harsh criticism or prejudice against me does not fit into the ethical framework.
I have come to the conclusion that a kind of endurance is better than impatient and ill-considered actions. The unfavorable consequences of those who said the last word at the beginning also strengthen my opinion.
I also believe that it is the right way for prudent people to never try to prove lies. Because he knows better than anyone else what is being said. Liars, on the other hand, usually think that they can achieve their goal by telling a lie a thousand times because the evidence is unproven.
Also, it is very difficult and useless to explain that the voices that are pleasing to the voice sing in the choir and outside. Finally, my word is not for those who listen to me, but for those who listen. Dear compatriots, I want to assure you once again that I have not participated in any mass events, including weddings, engagements and mourning ceremonies, since the beginning of the pandemic. Although I have lost two loved ones in the last two months. I did not allow any information about it to be disseminated, nor did I allow mourning ceremonies to be held.
Despite our many losses due to the coronavirus, as well as our July Martyrs, I see no need to rejoice, and even to endanger people's lives. I consider it irresponsible, to put my wishes above everything else, I consider it a blow to the position of our President on these issues, and I strongly condemn those who invite people who are not involved in such events and change the agenda.
I urge the lovers of lies to finally turn away from this path, to avoid excessive actions by targeting our society and individuals without waiting for any framework.

As a result, the Absheron District Court held a hearing on the administrative prosecution of former MP Ilham Aliyev and his brother-in-law Rovshan Mustafayev. Both men were detained for 15 days.
It should be noted that former rector of Baku State University Abel Maharramov, Advisor to the President of ANAS Ali Abbasov, Deputy Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), MP Siyavush Novruzov, Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva, Murad Adigozalzade and his wife Aysel Adigozalzade were charged with violating special quarantine rules. One of them was fined 400 manat.
In addition, 17 other people who attended the wedding were fined for violating special quarantine rules.
