"Currently, there are more than two million one hundred thousand families in Azerbaijan."
This is stated in the analysis of the situation in families as a result of social isolation measures and the introduction of a special quarantine regime in the country in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children.
It was noted that in Azerbaijan, as in the rest of the world, there is a decrease in marriages and an increase in divorces:
"If the number of marriages in 2011 was 88,145, in 2019 this figure was 63,869. The number of marriages per 1,000 people decreased from 9.7 to 6.4. The number of divorces in 2011 was 10,747, while in 2019 the figure was 17,148. The number of divorces per 1,000 people increased from 1.2 to 1.7. Today, every effort must be made to preserve and strengthen the institution of the family. "
