NTRC issued a statement on Lider TV

The National Television and Radio Council issued a statement.

The statement said:

Some information sites spread information about the suspension of cable broadcasting of "Lider" TV channel and the broadcasting of APA TV channel instead of that channel in the packages of cable operators.

As the National Television and Radio Council, we would like to inform you that the license of Lider TV is valid and the channel continues to operate, as there is no valid court decision declaring Lider TV and Radio-Azerbaijan LLC bankrupt. Like all public terrestrial channels, Lider TV is broadcast by all cable operators. Reports that the channel was suspended from cable channels without a decision by the National Television and Radio Council and that Internet TV channels such as APA TV or Baku TV were broadcast via cable instead of that channel do not reflect the truth.

It should be noted that Internet TV channels such as APA TV and Baku TV are not allowed to broadcast on the packages of cable operators, as they are not open-air.

Editors of news sites are asked to obtain accurate information from the National Television and Radio Council, the regulatory body for television and radio broadcasting, before sharing such information.
