Umayra Tagiyeva: "The weather will be unstable, it will rain"

The month of August this year is very different from the hot and dry August weather we have seen in recent decades. If recently the high temperature records were updated in August, August of this year is mild, the temperature fluctuates within the norm, and in some days even falls slightly below the norm.
The statement came from head of the National Hydrometeorological Service Umayra Tagiyeva.
He noted that in many regions and the Absheron Peninsula, the amount of precipitation in the 1st and 2nd decade of August is higher than the amount of precipitation during the month: “For example, the Absheron Peninsula received up to twice the monthly norm. , 168 percent in Tartar and 141 percent in Salyan. According to long-term meteorological observations, the number of rainy days in Azerbaijan in August was on average four days, but this year the number of rainy days was higher. For example, it rained for 12 days in Balakan-Sheki, 8 days in Central Aran, and nine days in Gazakh-Ganja. Such processes are a manifestation of anomalous hydrometeorological events that have increased in recent decades against the background of climate change.
I would like to remind you that in the spring, citing data released by NASA and other international climate centers, it was reported that there will be record temperatures in Azerbaijan in the summer of this year. At that time, our experts noted that since such forecasts are based on global models, it would not be right to apply them directly to our country as an axiom. At the same time, it should be taken into account that in the world practice, the justification of long-term forecasts is not high.

Tagiyeva also said that the weather will be unstable again in the country from 21 to 24 August: “The temperature will drop by 8-10 degrees and will be close to 21-26 degrees in Baku. The north wind will intensify and it will rain in the regions
