"There is a significant decrease in the number of coronavirus infections in Azerbaijan."
The statement came from World Health Organization (WHO) Representative in Azerbaijan Hande Harmanci.
He said that as a result of preventive measures against the coronavirus pandemic, which lasted for months, there was a decrease in the number of infections:
"During the months-long pandemic, some countries have followed the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO). As a result, it became clear that public health has a positive impact in all countries of the world.
In countries where preventive measures are in place, the number of infections and deaths has decreased, while in neglected countries, the numbers have increased. Today, a significant decrease in the number of coronavirus infections has been recorded in Azerbaijan.
Harmanci noted that public health means the maintenance of social distance, the use of protective masks and disinfection methods.
"The virus has seriously damaged the lives of people and the economic situation in all countries," Harmanci said, urging all countries to be vigilant in the fight against the disease.
