In Germany, it is proposed to reduce the working week to four days to help overcome the crisis.
According to Gadin.Net, Funke reports that such a proposal was made by the Minister of Labor Hubertus Hayle.
According to him, the reduction of the working week with partial compensation payments may be an appropriate measure. Hayle noted that the main condition is the consent of the social partners:
"We need good and practical thinking to get out of the crisis together."
George Hoffman, head of the IG Metall Industry Association, also said the four-day work week would help respond to structural changes in sectors such as the automotive industry and help save jobs.
