The Azerbaijani side strongly supports all the steps of brotherly Turkey, based on international law, to ensure peace and stability in the region, which has historically played an important role in the development and progress of the Mediterranean region, and hopes that the current tensions will be resolved soon.
The statement came from Leyla Abdullayeva, spokeswoman for the Foreign Ministry, commenting on Turkey's media activities in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Armenian Foreign Ministry's statement.
According to the Foreign Ministry official, in this regard, attempts by third parties to use the situation as an opportunity for their hostility and bias against the countries of the region should be strongly rejected:
"The position and statements of the Armenian side, which contain baseless accusations against Turkey, should be condemned and rejected as an attempt to abuse the sensitive situation in the Mediterranean for its own narrow political interests."
