For the first time in the history of Azerbaijani cinema, the first video of the full-length feature film "Between Scattered Deaths", which will compete for the Golden Lion Award at the Venice International Film Festival, has been released.
The film "Between Scattered Deaths" directed by Azerbaijani director Hilal Baydarov tells the love story of a young man named Davud.
Both Azerbaijani and foreign cinematographers contributed to the film "Between Scattered Deaths". For the first time in the history of our independent cinema, Azerbaijani film has been selected as the main competition at the Venice Film Festival, one of the three largest and most prestigious film festivals in the world (others: Cannes Film Festival and Berlin Film Festival). Although there have been films selected for these festivals before, none of them had a chance to compete in the main competition.
The executive producers of the film are Danny Glover and Susan Rockefeller, the screenwriters are Rashid Safar and Hilal Baydarov, and the composer is Kanan Rustamli. The film stars Orkhan Iskenderli, Rena Askerova, Huseyn Nasirov, Samir Abbasov, Kamran Huseynov, Maryam Nagiyeva, Kubra Shukurova, Narmin Hasanova, Ogtay Namazov, Murvat Abdulazizov and others.
The program of this year's festival, which will be held from 2 to 12 September, includes 18 full and 15 short films. Actress Cate Blanchett was elected president of the jury of the festival.
It should be noted that the Golden Lion is the main prize of the Venice Film Festival and was established in 1949.
