There is no need for visitors to be isolated for two weeks

During the COVID-19 pandemic, passengers on flights from Azerbaijan are required to undergo mandatory testing in laboratories accredited by the Medical Territorial Units Management Association (DMAA). It is also necessary to provide a certificate confirming a negative result of a coronavirus test during a flight to Azerbaijan from other countries (only "PCR" tests are accepted).

According to official information, a certificate confirming the coronavirus test must be obtained no later than 48 hours before the flight. Under the new rules, only passengers who have passed a coronavirus (COVID-19) test and obtained a negative result will be allowed to fly. Therefore, passengers who do not pass the mandatory test and do not provide a certificate at the airport of flight will not be allowed on the flight. At the same time, passengers with COVID-19 symptoms or positive test results are not allowed in the airport complex and are not admitted to the flight.

At the same time, when checking in at the airport during the flight from Istanbul, you must provide a certificate of negative results on COVID-19 issued by Memorial Health Group clinics or one of the other clinics listed on the website of the Turkish Ministry of Health: https: //covid19bilgi.saglik. gov.tr/tr/covid-19-adult-laboratory-laboratory-list.

However, passengers returning from other countries in transit through Istanbul can submit a certificate of PCR testing from a laboratory certified by the Ministry of Health (or other competent authority) of that country or one of the Turkish clinics listed above. In all cases, the test results must be obtained within 48 hours before the flight.

According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan, all passengers arriving in Baku on these flights must be in isolation for two weeks. For this purpose, they must fill out a declaration during the flight and indicate the address of residence, which may be in isolation mode.

Chairman of the German-Azerbaijani Society of Radiology and Neuroradiology, Doctor of Medical Sciences of the University of Cologne Nuran Abdullayev told Report that it is important for citizens to take the test no later than 48 hours before the flight:

"I think that citizens who come to our country should take the test again at the airport. This is one of the important factors in determining whether these citizens are infected with the virus. Because citizens can be infected with COVID-19 after taking a test in their country before visiting our country. No one is insured against this. Therefore, if the result of the test given by the person coming to Azerbaijan at the airport of our country is negative, then there is no need to involve him in two weeks of isolation. However, they must be isolated until the results of the test at the airport are available.

Of course, the reliability of test results is very important here, or rather, the percentage of scientific accuracy of the results of tests that are applied and the answer is short. If they are too low, it is important to use tests with a high percentage of accuracy, and those people should be quarantined until the results of the test at the airport.
