The popular recreation area was declared risky

The famous Spanish holiday island of Mallorca has been declared a high-risk area.
The decision was announced by the Robert Koch Institute in Germany, Gadin.Net reports quoting the Telegraph.
The Spanish island of Mallorca is one of the most popular places for Germans to relax. The institute explained its decision by the increase in new cases of the virus in the country.
The institute said the decision was based on a joint analysis by the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The Foreign Ministry has announced that holidaymakers in Mallorca can cancel their reservations in the region free of charge.
The ministry also declared five Spanish regions at risk, including the capitals of Madrid, Barcelona and the Costa Rica.
