A meeting of the National Television and Radio Council (NTRC) was held in video format.
The NTRC told Publika.az that the meeting discussed the results of the monitoring of national television channels on August 1-10, 2020.
On August 5, 2020, the requirements of Article 35.7 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Television and Radio Broadcasting” were violated by broadcasting 16 minutes and 50 seconds of advertisements on the air of “Khazar” TV channel from 18.00 to 19.00. Guided by Article 23.1 of the Law, the Council decided to suspend the broadcasting of programs on Khazar TV channel for 3 hours (from 08:00 to 11:00) on August 23, 2020.
Also, on August 8, 2020, the requirements of Article 35.7 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Television and Radio Broadcasting" were violated by broadcasting advertisements on the air of "ARB" TV channel from 09.00 to 10.00 for 16 minutes and 20 seconds. Guided by Article 23.1 of the Law, the Council decided to suspend the broadcasting of programs on the TV channel "ARB" on August 17, 2020 for a period of 3 hours (from 08:00 to 11:00).
