"Instructions on the organization of educational and psychological assistance to persons sentenced to a term of imprisonment and life imprisonment" were approved.
Justice Minister Fikrat Mammadov signed a decision in this regard, Gadin.Net reports.
This instruction regulates the organization of educational and psychological assistance to prisoners.
The educational work carried out with convicts is aimed at their involvement in socially useful work, honest attitude to work and observance of socially accepted norms of behavior.
It also aims to shape and strengthen the education and culture of prisoners.
According to the instructions, psychological assistance in penitentiary institutions is carried out in special rooms.
The rooms are equipped with a computer, a psychological test bank, special psychological literature, stationery for documentation, iron cabinets or safes. The service room of psychologists is sealed.
There is also a permanent advisory body to assist in the organization and conduct of educational work with prisoners. This advisory body is called the Board of Tutors.
The group of tutors is established for a period of one year, provided that there are at least seven members. It includes senior inspectors and inspectors of educational institutions, employees of all service areas of the penitentiary institution, teachers and masters of general education and vocational schools, and the chairman of the parents' committee in the educational institution.
The relevant decision signed by Fikret Mammadov came into force on July 30.
