Scientists have once again confirmed that insomnia makes a person ugly.
Scientists from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm conducted a study on this. The study involved men and women aged 18-47.
In the first week of the experiment, volunteers had to sleep 7-8 hours a day. After some time, experts took pictures of the participants. Then the second part of the experiment was followed. Volunteers were allowed to sleep a maximum of 4 hours a day. At this stage, photos of the participants were taken.
Participants did not use any cosmetics or accessories during the photo shoot. After that, the scientists gathered another group of 122 volunteers. They were asked to evaluate the appearance, health, attractiveness, beauty, and confidence of the people in the photos.
In tests, volunteers found that people who slept enough looked more attractive and healthier. The faces of the sleep-deprived participants, especially around the eyes, looked more pale. Such qualities do not make people kind and warm. However, insomnia did not affect confidence.
