These people will not be infected for the second time - an infectious disease specialist

Infectious disease specialist-hepatologist Mardan Aliyev spoke about the importance of serological tests to study immunity against the SARS-CoV-2 virus in Azerbaijan.
The doctor told Publika.az that the issue of applying serological tests has been on the agenda for a long time:
"At the beginning of the pandemic, doctors suggested that people undergo mass serological tests. This will allow us to know how many people are infected with the coronavirus and gain immunity. Of course, it is of prognostic significance for the later stages of the disease or the second wave. Based on the results obtained, it will be possible to learn information about the further course of the disease. In this sense, serological tests are important.

According to Gadin.Net, the doctor told publika.az that the issue of introducing serological tests has long been on the agenda:
"At the beginning of the pandemic, doctors suggested that people undergo mass serological tests. This will allow us to know how many people are infected with the coronavirus and gain immunity. Of course, it is of prognostic significance for the later stages of the disease or the second wave. Based on the results obtained, it will be possible to learn information about the further course of the disease. In this sense, serological tests are important.
Immunoglobulin C and M are tested in serological tests. Those who are immunoglobulin C positive are considered immune. This means that these people will not be infected with the virus a second time, and even if they do, they will be more susceptible to the disease.

Although the tests are intended to be widely used, it is more appropriate for doctors, police and journalists, who are part of the active population, to take the test. The majority of those infected were doctors, police and journalists. Therefore, it is recommended that the group in contact with the population do it.
