Ten people have been killed in hot weather in Japan over the past week.
As a result of the hot weather, 7,000 people were hospitalized, RIA Novosti reported.
The temperature was 36 degrees throughout the country.
On August 11, this year's record was set in Gumma prefecture, where the temperature rose to 40 degrees.
Forecasters are pessimistic: the weather will not change in the coming days.
Authorities urged local residents not to leave their homes unless absolutely necessary, to drink plenty of fluids, and not to wear protective masks on the street when the distance between them and other people is more than two meters.
It was stressed that it is necessary to go to the emergency room during sunset.
