Russia will release a coronavirus vaccine within two weeks.
The statement came from Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, Gadin.Net reports quoting Interfax.
According to him, the vaccine will be given first to people from the risk group:
"Quality is controlled today. The first packs of medicines will be produced within two weeks and they will be handed over to (at the vaccination) risk group doctors.
Murashko called allegations that the vaccine against the coronavirus registered in Russia is not safe:
"Our foreign colleagues are probably trying to express some views, feeling certain competitive advantages of Russian medicine. In our opinion, this is completely unfounded. Indeed, many countries have used certain mandatory regimens for research, but the Russian vaccine is already an existing solution with some clinical data.
Anthony Fauchi, a senior infectious disease specialist in the United States, said he had doubts about the safety of the Russian-made coronavirus vaccine. At the same time, US presidential aide Kellian Conway criticized the Russian vaccine.
