The Japanese government is asking for help from the regions in the fight against the coronavirus

Japan's coronavirus minister, Nishimura Yasutoshi, has called on prefecture governors to work together.
Gadin.Net reports quoting AzerTaj that the minister made such a call during an online conference with governors. Yasutoshi said the government had accepted the four-stage indexation proposed by experts. He noted that the indexation will be based on six indicators, taking into account the total number of infections and positive reactions during coronavirus tests. According to experts, many regions of the country are currently in the second stage of this indexation, which confirms that the infection continues to spread.

He said he expects local authorities to use the index to assess the current situation in their regions, which will help to take active steps to study the needs in the field. Yasutoshi also expressed hope that this would have a positive impact on cooperation and exchange of information with the population.

According to the minister, the situation in the country is now approaching a decisive point. Stressing the need to prevent the spread of the infection, especially among the elderly, the minister stressed the need to provide beds for critically ill patients.

Iizumi Kamon, chairman of the Japan Governors Association and governor of Tokushima Prefecture, said it was important for the companies to be compensated in order for the request to shut down to be effective. For this purpose, the amount of subsidies allocated by the central government should be increased.

Kamon also suggested strengthening the legal framework to influence enterprises. He said that the imposition of fines on enterprises that do not comply with the request will have a positive effect.
