The President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping called on the country's citizens to save on food.
According to Gadin.Net, Xinhua reports that the President stressed the importance of the population being honest in food security.
At the same time, he stressed the importance of strengthening the legislative framework, control, effective measures, as well as the creation of a long-term mechanism for effective control of food waste:
"It is necessary to intensify propaganda work and measures to educate citizens, as well as to develop the habit of saving and to make the society feel the shame of waste and the importance of being proud of saving."
