Permanent damage of the coronavirus

Natalie Tronson, a neurobiologist at the University of Michigan, spoke about the chronic damage caused by the coronavirus to patients' health.
The scientist's research was published in the journal MedicalXpress, Gadin.Net reports citing publika.az. The expert said that in some cases, the effects of SARS-COV-2 on the brain are one of the most serious consequences of the disease. For example, long-term effects on the brain caused by the disease include myalgic encephalomyelitis (or chronic fatigue syndrome) and Guillain-Barre syndrome. At this time, autoimmune disorders of the peripheral nervous system progress rapidly.

The doctor also explained that many of the symptoms of the coronavirus are actually related to the immune system's defense reactions. For example, a runny nose is not a direct result of a coronavirus, but a reaction of the immune system. Vibration, lethargy, fatigue, and fever occur due to the activation of the immune cells responsible for the brain.
