Social distance rules violated on beaches in Baku - OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Crowds were observed on the beaches over the weekend. The images were spread on social networks.

It is clear from the photos that no social distance was expected on the beaches and quarantine rules were not followed.

By the decision of the operative headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers, the beaches have been open to citizens since August 5 within the rules established in accordance with the requirements of the special quarantine regime.

Elmin Imanov, head of the Baku City Executive Power (BCEP), said that the agency together with the district executive authorities inspected all the beaches in the capital on the spot:

"The situation on the beaches has been analyzed, steps have been taken to improve the infrastructure in these areas, to make the current situation more heartening," he said.

The most important issue at each beach is to maintain the social distance in accordance with the current epidemiological situation, to provide the area with disinfectant solutions. In addition, special warning signs have been installed on the beach.

The boards reflect the rules that must be followed on the beach. To ensure the protection of social distance, places of rest are marked with special signs.

At the same time, compliance with the required rules is regularly brought to the attention of citizens who come to rest through loudspeakers.

According to him, one of the most sensitive issues is the state of cleanliness here:

"Institutions subordinated to the executive power are working in an intensified mode in this regard. Here, all employees work very hard to maintain cleanliness and waste transportation. The beaches are very clean, there is no problem with that.

The head of the department of the BDI noted that the cimerlik.az portal operates in order to regulate the number of visitors to the beaches. Here are the figures for the capacity of each beach:

"Before coming to the beach, citizens are advised to visit the portal to study the situation with congestion and choose low-density beaches. The goal is to reduce the number of people on the beaches and minimize the risk of infection. The beaches have been crowded for two days, which is a cause for concern.

Citizens are asked to refrain from taking steps that could aggravate the current situation, and to enter the portal before heading to the less crowded beaches.

Executive officials are monitoring and analyzing the current situation to increase the quota on the beach. Figures may change according to the monitoring results.

In order to ensure the operation of the beaches in accordance with the quota, "ASAN service" volunteers work at the entrance and exit of each beach. They register those who enter the beaches. As a result, the number of visitors to the beaches and vacancies are automatically posted on the portal. Volunteers also inform the population and bring to their attention the need to follow the rules.

Security at the beach is monitored by the Interior Ministry. They are also closely involved in regulating the number of vacationers here. That is, ASAN volunteers and Interior Ministry employees work in coordination. If there is no space, if there is space, they direct citizens to other beaches.
