In order to fulfill the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on improving the quality of drinking water services, prevention of waste and water loss at the meeting on the state of water economy, Azersu Open Joint-Stock Company has developed an Action Plan and started work.
For this purpose, special groups have been established, and control measures have been strengthened both in the Absheron Peninsula and in the regions.
Preliminary research shows that illegal and unregistered use of drinking water is more common in the suburbs of Baku, mainly in courtyards and cottages, as well as in some commercial facilities. During the inspection of water networks in Khazar, Sabunchu, Surakhani, Binagadi, Absheron districts, as well as in the garden areas, a number of negative cases related to the illegal use of drinking water were revealed. It was found out that a group of citizens and business entities illegally interfered with water pipelines without obtaining technical conditions and concluding a contract from Azersu OJSC, pumping water and using drinking water without registration.
