"We understand that people are tired and the quarantine regime is tired of us all"

The President addressed the citizens at today's meeting

President Ilham Aliyev said that this is a very serious problem for the world, and today it is the world's number one scourge:

"As for the fight against the coronavirus, we will continue to take steps in accordance with the situation. We all understand that people are tired, the quarantine regime is tired of us all. The whole administration is working almost 24 hours a day. It is a scourge, a disease that has no cure yet. Therefore, our only way is to protect people, reduce the number of infections, prevent the spread of the disease and thus save our citizens and our state from this situation. Therefore, steps will be taken accordingly. .

The quarantine regime will be relaxed whenever possible, as it has been relaxed since the 5th of this month. However, citizens should also understand that if after this softening we see a sharp increase in the disease, we will have no choice but to tighten it again. We do not want to do that. I want this softening process to continue gradually and condition the next softening step. But if the citizens see that everything is already open, and still do not pay attention to all this distance, protective equipment, then the disease will flare up again. We need to take tougher measures again, the economy will be hit again, people will get sick again. Therefore, I once again appeal to all Azerbaijani citizens to be responsible. This is a very serious disease. The disease does not recognize age, young people, young people, physically healthy people, athletes get sick and die. This is a very serious problem for the world, it is the world's number one scourge today. Therefore, we must all be responsible. If this is the case, if all the tasks I mentioned are fulfilled, we will be able to ease this quarantine regime and return to normal life sooner. "
