The World Health Organization is considering licensing the Russian-made COVID-19 vaccine.
The statement came from WHO spokeswoman Catherine de Kat, Gadin.Net reports citing publika.az.
"The WHO is in close contact with the Russian health authorities. Discussions are underway on a possible preliminary analysis of the vaccine," RIA Novosti quoted Kat as saying.
All safety and efficacy data for vaccine licensing will be carefully considered and evaluated.
The vaccine was developed in cooperation with the Russian Defense Ministry and the Gamaleya National Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology. Testing for the vaccine took place on June 18, July 15 and July 20.
