"Six hundred thousand unemployed people, including those working in informal employment and temporarily losing their jobs, belonging to the poor, are covered by the state."
The statement came from President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at a meeting on measures taken to combat the coronavirus pandemic and the socio-economic situation in the country on Aug. 6, Qadin.Net reports quoting oxu.az.
According to the head of state, they have been receiving 190 manat for several months:
"I think that this social support should be continued. Currently, a strict quarantine regime is applied in 13 cities and regions of Azerbaijan.
This category of people in these districts should continue to be covered by this support. I instruct you to pay them 190 manat in August as well.
