Due to the demolition and reconstruction of the railway bridge in the Khirdalan district due to the expansion of the Baku-Sumgayit highway, the movement of electric trains in the direction of Baku-Khirdalan-Sumgayit is temporarily suspended.
According to the press service of Azerbaijan Railways, the trains will not run from August 10 to November 10.
Therefore, electric trains will not run in the direction of Bilajari and Khirdalan during this period.
The expansion of the Baku-Sumgayit road is being carried out by the Azerbaijan State Agency for Motor Roads. The railway bridge in the Khirdalan district is hampering expansion. For this reason, the old bridge will be demolished and replaced by a new one-span arched railway bridge.
During the construction of the bridge, passengers traveling to Sumgayit or from there to Baku will be able to use electric trains running in the direction of Baku-Pirshagi-Sumgayit.
