"In early March, we allocated 22 hospitals to fight the coronavirus. In June-July, there was an increase in the country, especially in Baku. The number of hospitals to fight COVID-19 has reached 46."
The statement came from TABIB chairman Ramin Bayramli after the opening ceremony of the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex to be transformed into a modular hospital, Gadin.Net reports quoting Qafqazinfo.
He said that 10 of them were modular hospitals:
"In addition, a modular hospital of the Ministry of Emergency Situations has been put into operation. The number of beds in the 800-bed hospital is expected to increase by 1,200. We have used only 5 modular hospitals. Taking this into account, we began to attract additional enterprises. However, we managed to reduce the number due to the applied anti-pandemic control and quarantine conditions.
However, the World Health Organization and experts involved in our country recommend to prepare for the autumn. This is done in all countries of the world. The disease can re-spread through mutations and other possible respiratory infections can spread in the fall. We must be ready for that. Today, you can compare the number of infections and deaths in our country with other countries. The death toll is about 2 percent, and the average age is 65. Timely preparation of medical institutions, taking appropriate measures, development of treatment methods helped our patients. A while ago, I met with a delegation from China, and yesterday with a delegation from Italy. Our employees work with them. We are talking about all treatment processes and future plans. I hope we will not use our entire bed fund. But it can be used if necessary. The modular hospital created in Absheron Sports Complex meets modern standards. The medical staff who will work here will work comfortably. "Azerbaijan is one of the few countries that has allocated vehicles for medical personnel.
