The number of COVID-19 infections in Afghanistan is estimated at 10 million.
The statement came from Health Minister Javad Osmani, Qadin.Net reports quoting publika.az.
Speaking at a press conference, the minister said that with the support of Johns Hopkins University and the World Health Organization, they conducted a new study across the country and came to this conclusion.
Osmani said the disease was observed in more than half of the capital, Kabul, with the majority being minors. He noted that the pandemic in the country is out of control.
According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, 36,829 people have been infected with the virus in Afghanistan so far, and 1,294 people have died. 25,742 people were cured.
