Lukashenko proposes to change Belarus's constitution

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has proposed changes to the country's constitution over the next five years.
This is stated in his election program published in the newspaper "Zvyazda".
According to Lukashenko, Belarusians are ready to take responsibility for the fate of the country:
"This level of responsibility will be determined by the people themselves. But within the law. Not in the streets and squares, but through legal relations. Let's start with the Constitution. "
The President of Belarus noted that the people of the country will determine their rights, freedoms and responsibilities, as well as the powers of state bodies during the referendum.
Alexander Lukashenko has been President of Belarus since July 1994. He is now in his fifth term, which ends in 2020.
