The professor WARNED about the possible complications of coronavirus treatment

One of the main targets of the coronavirus is blood vessels. COVID-19 affects the inner lining of capillaries, causing the formation of microthrombi in them. Doctors prescribe anticoagulants to patients to prevent an increase in blood clotting and reduce the risk of blood clots.
Information about the benefits of anticoagulants in the treatment of coronavirus is spreading on social networks, Qadin.Net reports citing publika.az.
Sergei Boychov, chief cardiologist of the Russian Ministry of Health, head of the National Medical Research Cardiology Center, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, said that these drugs should never be taken without medical supervision: “Under no circumstances should anticoagulants be used without a doctor's prescription! These drugs reduce the severity of coronavirus manifestations, but also increase the risk of bleeding. It is very important to calculate this risk correctly, taking into account age, renal function, the patient's blood pressure level and other important factors. Only a doctor can do that. A special algorithm is used to determine the risk and the dose of the drug. Self-medication with anticoagulants can result in fatal gastrointestinal bleeding and hemorrhagic stroke, ”the chief cardiologist warned.
The expert added that it is not safe to take aspirin for coronavirus. "Cardiologists know that aspirin is a drug with a high risk of bleeding, so it is used with caution in treatment. The risks of this drug may outweigh the potential benefits. Paracetamol is the safest and most effective antipyretic for coronavirus infection.
