According to Qadin.Net SelectNews, the research of scientists from the University of Manchester was published in the American Journal of Otolaryngology.
Specialists monitored 121 people who recovered from the coronavirus. 16 of them said that their hearing was impaired. The problem arose two months after they were released from the hospital.
According to experts, this may be due to auditory neuropathy, in which the transmission of signals to the brain along the auditory nerve is disrupted.
However, scientists believe that medications used to treat stress and infection can also cause hearing problems in people recovering from coronavirus.
