Sydney, Australia's largest city, has been declared a new source of coronavirus in the country.
The statement came from Queensland's Prime Minister Anastasia Palashchuk, RIA Novosti reported.
"Sydney has already been declared the epicenter of COVID-19. From now on, no km from Sydney will be allowed in Queensland, ”he said on his Twitter account.
The prime minister also stressed that the new rules do not apply to Queensland residents returning from Sydney. They simply have to be isolated in a hotel for two weeks at their own expense after returning to the state.
