The disease has affected a chicken farm in the province of Pampanga. As a result, more than 38.7 thousand birds were killed. The ministry said the farm's meat did not pose a threat to markets.
Although bird flu is a disease that can be transmitted to humans, it does not spread through cooked meat.
The cause of the infection has not been determined, but the department said there were migratory birds in the area. Usually the disease is transmitted to poultry.
