Qualcomm has developed the Quick Charge 5 for smartphones.
According to Gadin.Net, this was reported by ArsTechnica. Thanks to the new device, a smartphone battery can be charged from zero to 50 percent in five minutes.
The company's engineers have also tested the new standard on devices with two-element batteries of 4,500 mAh. According to Qualcomm experts, when charged to 100 watts, the load is distributed equally between the two battery elements (about 50 watts each). The standard supports the USB Power Delivery protocol, which means that it can be used not only to charge smartphones, but also computers. Earlier it was reported that hackers have learned to remotely turn on phone chargers. They can bypass the protection program of the device, connect remotely to any smartphone that supports fast charging, and enter the device on the charger, causing an excessive power supply to the battery. As a result, the smartphone starts to heat up and lights up.
