The statement came from Viktor Maleyev, an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and adviser on scientific affairs to the director of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology.
"Infections can never end. Not one, not two, so others will appear, in general, it is impossible to live without infection. "People are flying, they are globalizing, nothing will end until the New Year, and maybe there will be seasonal increases," he said.
He said it was difficult to predict a new wave of disease. At the same time, it is necessary to develop and strengthen measures to combat acute infection: “If an infection occurs, diagnostics are carried out, plans for quarantine measures are prepared. They must be developed and strengthened within the country. "
