First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva called on international human rights organizations.
The text of the call reads:
“Dear compatriots!
The recent events in Los Angeles and the capitals of some European countries have infuriated me as well as millions of Azerbaijanis.
Peaceful and patriotic actions of Azerbaijanis in support of their homeland, pre-agreed with the relevant government agencies, were met with physical violence, aggression and inhuman hatred by members of the Armenian diaspora.
Well-trained and well-trained provocateurs took advantage of their large numbers to attack and injure peaceful protesters. In some cases, aggressive Armenian groups attacked Azerbaijanis who could not resist the depraved crowd because they were in the minority at the time.
Decades of hated and Azerbaijaniophobic ideology are bearing fruit - some Armenians are throwing stones at peaceful Azerbaijani protesters in the center of world capitals, while others are firing heavy artillery at Azerbaijani homes.
There have been many examples of such crimes against the Azerbaijani people in history.
Suffice it to recall the massacre of the peaceful Azerbaijani population of Khojaly by the Armenian armed forces on the night of February 25-26, 1992. These tragic events have been recognized as genocide by more than 10 states and condemned at the level of international organizations.
On that bloody night, Armenian warriors, armed from head to toe, killed 613 people with special brutality, 421 civilians were tortured and insulted, 1,275 people were missing or taken hostage, and the city itself was completely burned.
More than a thousand civilians were injured by firearms. Among those killed were 106 women, 63 children and 70 elderly people.
Eight families were completely destroyed, 25 children lost both parents and 130 children lost one parent. 56 people were burnt alive.
Not to mention the murder of two-year-old Zahra Guliyeva by Armenian aggressors. Zahra and her grandmother died on July 4, 2017 in Alkhanli village of Fizuli region as a result of large-caliber fire. Another example. On July 14, 2020, 76-year-old civilian resident of Tovuz region Aziz Azizov died as a result of artillery shelling of civilian objects by the Armenian armed forces.
For more than 30 years, the Armenian propaganda network has been carrying out insidious anti-Azerbaijani propaganda with the help of its numerous diaspora, trying to justify these heinous crimes. It is no secret that the vast majority of defamation campaigns against our country are inspirated and funded by the Armenian Diaspora.
The level of hatred and aggression has increased so much that some members of this diaspora are committing lawlessness and chaos in the capitals of Western countries, which consider themselves the cradle of democracy.
How else can we explain the stoning of the embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Brussels, which is the center of European politics, and the injury of peaceful protesters?
Footage of violence and vandalism from Los Angeles, Brussels and other cities, showing the true face of our enemies, rightly raises both outrage and valid questions.
Why do the law enforcement agencies of those countries allow corrupt gangs to cause such chaos? How to turn a blind eye to these crimes?
On behalf of millions of Azerbaijanis around the world, I call on the law enforcement agencies of the United States, Belgium and other countries to thoroughly investigate these incidents, give them an appropriate legal assessment and bring all perpetrators to justice, because illegal actions must be punished.
I also call on a number of non-governmental organizations, including Freedom House, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, which have declared their mission to protect human rights, to give a fair assessment of the events. But for some reason we still do not hear their voices. I hope that these institutions, demonstrating sufficient principle, will abandon the policy of double standards and make statements based on facts.
Dear brothers and sisters!
What happened clearly demonstrates to the world community how dangerous Armenia's aggressive policy is for the peaceful Azerbaijani people.
In such cases, it is our duty to convey this truth to the world community.
Our task is to unite and urge all tribunes to investigate the latest acts of violence fairly and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Every sound matters!
I call on all Azerbaijanis around the world to act together, to unite all the potential of our diaspora to respond appropriately to the depraved enemy. However, we must not forget that we are not like savages and bandits who are based on inhuman hatred. Our struggle must be waged only within the rule of law.
I thank everyone who has raised their voices and raised the Azerbaijani flag in all cities of the world these days.
Let no one doubt that no provocation can force us to turn away from the path of truth. We are millions, we have one goal - to defend the Motherland, to restore its territorial integrity and historical truth.
Because Karabakh is Azerbaijan and an exclamation mark! ”
