Spokesman for the Interior Ministry Ehsan Zahidov said that those who pose a serious threat to the lives of others by going to public places are identified and prosecuted by police officers and servicemen of the Internal Troops, who control the quarantine regime.

According to Zahidov, the suspects are charged under the relevant article of the Criminal Code after the detention of persons who have been found to have left the place of residence illegally.
"Immediately after that, these people are taken to special hospitals for treatment. After their full recovery, the issue of arrest and other measures of restraint will be considered and the investigation will be carried out in accordance with the procedural legislation.
He added that so far the police have opened criminal cases on 16 facts under Article 139-1 of the Criminal Code (violation of anti-epidemic, sanitary-hygienic or quarantine regimes).
The Ministry of Internal Affairs requires those who are currently receiving treatment for COVID-19 and are under medical supervision to strictly follow the rules of self-isolation.
It is warned that those who violate these rules and create conditions for the infection of others will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
It should be noted that the legislation of Azerbaijan provides for both administrative and criminal liability for violation of quarantine rules.

According to Article 211, paragraph 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, violation of anti-epidemic, sanitary-hygienic and quarantine regimes is punishable by a fine of 200 to 400 manat for individuals and 3,000 to 4,000 manat for officials. administrative detention for a period of up to one month, depending on the identity of the perpetrator.
Legal entities are fined from 4,000 to 10,000 manat.
For violation of the requirements established by the relevant executive authority on the use of personal protective equipment during the anti-epidemic regime, sanitary-hygienic and quarantine regimes, as well as failure to prevent the violation of these requirements by officials and legal entities, individuals 100 manat, officials 200 manat , legal entities are fined in the amount of 400 manat.
Penalties for recidivism within one year are more than doubled.
