Disposable medical and reusable masks, as well as respirators are suitable for use in winter. However, they need to be changed more often than in the hot season.
This was stated by a senior Russian physician, toxicologist Alexei Vodovozov, speaking about the rules of proper use of masks in the winter.
According to him, if the mask is wet from snow and condensate has accumulated there, it should be changed, regardless of its medical or reusability.
"In winter, this becomes even more relevant: the breath we breathe is warmer than the environment, which can lead to the formation of ice and a kind of mystery on the mask. In this case, it should be changed more often, "Vodovozov said.
