Look out the window
"Close to focus" tasks like looking at the computer can cut your blink rate by half, causing dry eyes and even corneal damage. Each time you blink, a layer of tears is applied to the cornea. Blink your eyes for 20 seconds every 20 minutes and look out the window.
Try a glass of squeezed lemonade
Did you notice that some days your vision is worse than other days? Intriguing research by scientists shows that sipping a glass of lemonade can improve vision for more than 75 percent of us almost instantly. Apparently, one of the first areas of pain in the body when we are slightly dehydrated is the eyes. Being dehydrated makes tears less slippery and causes corneas to wrinkle, temporarily impairing both near and far vision. Make a sugar-free water-lemon mixture and sip it. Studies show that high vitamin C levels in citrus fruits reduce the risk of eye complaints by 57 percent.
Turn on ambient lighting
A surprising eye damage cause: Looking at a backlit screen in the dark or even in a dim room! Low illumination causes the pupils to open wide, causing more high-energy blue light to reach the back of the eyes and overload the sensitive cells of the retina. Turn on the room lights. When there is light, the pupils will constrict, significantly reducing the blue light entering your eyes.
Also: Try wearing a pair of blue light blocking glasses while looking at the screen. These glasses can help prevent eye damage and relieve you of eye strain.
