Jewelry care

Jewelry should be stored in special boxes or wrapped in a separate soft cloth. Precious stones are harder than gold and platinum, and when jewelry is kept together, stones can scratch metals. When jewelry is worn regularly, its appearance can be spoiled. To protect them from dirt and damage, it is necessary to remove them when doing any household chores, as well as when using cosmetics (creams, lotions, perfumes, etc.). Because a strong blow or chemicals can damage even the strongest gemstones. Try to wear expensive jewelry only on special days. On ordinary days, you can wear silverware or jewelry. By the way, they sometimes differ very little in beauty from expensive jewelry.

If you want your jewelry to always please you with its beauty and brilliance, take good care of them. Jewelry should be cleaned periodically. If the gold jewelry is dull in color, wash it in soapy water with 1/2 teaspoon of rubbing alcohol (1/2 teaspoon of rubbing alcohol in 1 cup of water) to restore its luster, then wipe clean with a soft cloth. Gold pendants, chains, earrings, rings, etc. To refresh and restore shine, soak them in water mixed with powdered sugar (1 teaspoon powdered sugar + 1 cup of water) for 2-3 hours, then wipe with a soft cloth. Jewelry with precious stones is not cleaned with alcohol. At home, it is enough to clean them in warm soapy water with a soft toothbrush. Each piece of jewelry that is often worn in this way should be cleaned once every 2-3 months. For more serious cleaning, you need to consult a jeweler. Diamonds, which attract oil, get dirty very quickly. Jewelry owners sometimes do not even notice that the precious stone no longer shines. The most "soft" emeralds are very easy to crack. Therefore, they can be cleaned only by hand (without the use of any special tools). Pearls also need special care.

This is a very delicate stone. Pearls should be kept separate from other jewelry. Pearls can be scratched and dull when touched with other gemstones. The pearl thread gets dirty quickly and it is recommended to change it occasionally. Any chemicals - perfumes, creams, household chemicals - can damage pearls. Pearls can be washed in soap and water with a little salt. Pearls that are not worn for a long time are spoiled and dull in color.

If you want these stones to stay bright and beautiful for a long time, wear them often. Darkened silver earrings, chains, rings, bracelets are washed in warm soapy water and cleaned with toothpaste or chalk with the addition of narcotic alcohol. It is enough to wash lightly soiled silverware in lukewarm soapy water or lukewarm water mixed with soda (1 tablespoon + 1/2 l of water) and then rinse with clean water. Items soaked in golden water should not be cleaned with any paste.
