Anton Averin, deputy director of the Institute of Information Technology at Synergy University, said the laptop should not be placed on a bed or near other electronic devices.
Expert advice is especially relevant for people working at home. The expert noted that it is not right to work in bed with a laptop. According to him, the electronic device should not be placed on a sofa or bed, soft surfaces such as blankets or pillows can partially close the ventilation holes, which will cause the laptop to overheat.
"Overheating may cause the device to shut down. Dust and other debris also enter the appliance from soft surfaces and clog the ventilation cooler. It is also not worth working with a laptop in the kitchen: smart devices can accidentally spill water. In addition, the laptop should not be near other electrical appliances and magnets.
The problem is that an ordinary hard disk drive (HDD) uses a magnetic storage system. Proximity to magnets and other electrical devices can cause magnetic interference, which can lead to loss of data on the carrier, "said Anton Averin.
