Sandwich
The Earl of Sandwich IV, an 18th-century English nobleman, Montegu John, often commissioned his servant to bring him meat baked by his chef in the middle of bread. The nobleman loved this delicacy because it protected his hands from getting dirty when playing cards. Since Montague John served as count, his favorite delicacy soon became popular, and the public began to order "Sandwich dish", which was later named "Sandwich" in honor of the count, with a piece of meat and vegetables among the bread.
Napoleon cake
Those who connect the origin of the name of the cake "Napoleon" with the French Emperor Bonaparte Napoleon are wrong. Called "Napoleon" in various languages, the cookie is actually named after a similar dessert made in Naples, Italy, but the word "napolitain", which is translated as "Neapolitan" in French, is distorted into other languages and takes the form "Napoleon".
Margarita pizza
On June 11, 1889, Raffaele Esposito, a representative of the Italian Royal Palace, asked a local pizza maker to make a special pizza for the visit of Margarita, wife of King Umberto I, to Capodimente. Esposito prepares three different pizzas for the Queen. Of the pizzas, the Queen prefers tomato (red), mozzarella (white) and basil (green) pizzas, which reflect the three-color flag of Italy. Esposito immediately named the pizza he discovered "Margarita Pizza" in honor of Queen Margarita.
