What we rarely see in sleep

1. Smart phones
According to a study, only about 3.55 percent of women and only 2.69 percent of men see smartphones and other modern devices in their dreams. According to experts, this is the fact that such technological products have entered our lives very recently and our subconscious cannot get used to it yet.

There is a theory that we dream so our brains process our anxieties and fears. Dreaming allows us to deal with stressful events. So dreaming acts as a kind of evolved defense mechanism. Therefore, the things that are the subject of our dreams are often much more connected with things like fighting and survival. Therefore, we are not very familiar with modern technologies in our dreams.
However, some situations can trigger smartphones to appear in our dreams. Alice Robb, the author of a book about dreams; He shares that people are more likely to see smartphones in their dreams after certain events such as mourning or losing loved ones.

2. Writing, reading or speaking
The areas of our brain responsible for interpreting language are much less active while we sleep. That's why it can be very difficult to form and express language while dreaming.
In dreams, we can understand concepts and ideas and express ourselves. But we don't really hear voices or see someone who actually speaks. The same goes for reading, writing or telling the time. We can get a general idea but rarely can we distinguish individual words or tell the exact time. However, people who use language a lot in their daily lives, such as writers or poets, can actually make sense of the language in their dreams and come up with new ideas that can be useful after awakening.

3.Meeting with foreigners
There is a theory that our brains cannot "invent" new people, and all strangers we see in our dreams are either people we meet somewhere, or faces are a combination of features we've seen before. Most of our dreams are probably based on mundane elements in our lives. That's why we've probably seen strangers in our dreams before. We may think that we do not remember or recognize them because we see them for a very short time.

4. Doing physical activities
Probably almost all of us have experienced this before. We tried to run, jump, but it was as if everything was happening in slow motion. Yes, we are talking about dreams. Researchers suggest that while we sleep, we can perceive time differently, both faster and slower. On the other hand, during REM sleep our muscles are relaxed and immobile. When we dream during REM, this feeling of slow motion can occur due to the lack of muscle feedback or slowing of neural processes.
